Low Lane, Ingleby Barwick

Appletons were commissioned to act as landscape consultants relating to all landscape matters concerned with gaining planning permission to develop 18.2 hectares of land into 350 houses and a secondary school. This commission included a Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment, Phase 1 Habitat Survey and Landscape Masterplan. Following the refusal of planning permission, an appeal was lodged. Appletons acted as Expert Witness at a Public Inquiry. The appeal was successful and outline planning permission was granted.

Subsequently a further application with a LVIA, Phase 1 Habitat Survey and Landscape Masterplan was submitted for a second phase of 550 houses and provision for a primary school to the north of the site. This second application was also refused and an appeal was lodge. Appletons were commissioned to act as expert witness for all matters relating to landscape.

Appletons were also commissioned to co ordinate and manager the completion of an Environmental Statement for the two phases of development together circa 1400 properties. We are currently awaiting a decision on the second phase.
